In 2026 a full rewire of a three-bedroom semi in Greater Manchester costs £3,800 to £5,200 including VAT and takes five to ten working days. A one-bed flat starts at £2,350. A 1960s semi rewired around the family, seven working days
The house still had rubber-insulated cable in the lighting circuits. We rewired room by room so the family stayed in, moved sockets to suit the new kitchen and fitted interlinked alarms. Plastering was made good and the decorators followed us the next week.

Signs include a fuse box with rewirable fuses, rubber or fabric cable, round pin sockets, sockets in the skirting boards, lights flickering, or an EICR with several C2 codes. If the house was last wired before about 1980 and has never been rewired, it is worth an inspection.
Yes, most of our customers do. We work one area at a time, restore power each evening, put dust sheets down and clear up daily. It is disruptive but manageable and we plan it with you.
Yes. Chases are filled and plastered flush, ready for a decorator. We do not repaint, but we leave nothing that a decorator cannot deal with in the normal course of a job.
Often. If the circuits upstairs are sound and the kitchen is the problem, rewiring only the kitchen and the board can solve the safety issue for a third of the cost. We will tell you honestly which it is.
An Electrical Installation Certificate does not expire, but the installation should be inspected every ten years for an owner-occupied home and every five years for a rental.
