EV chargers
A home EV charger installation in Manchester takes most of a day: we check the supply and the earthing, run the cable on the route you choose, fit and commission the unit, then set it to charge on your cheapest overnight hours before we leave. Certified, notified and NAPIT registered.
We fit home units for drivers and multi-point workplace charging for businesses across Greater Manchester and Cheshire East.
Send us a photo of the fuse board or the job and we’ll come back with a price the same day.
What is included
Workplace charging
Several chargers on one incoming supply, sharing the available capacity dynamically so nothing trips when everyone plugs in at nine.
Separate metering per bay where you need to recharge staff, tenants or fleet costs back to a cost centre.
Trenching across car parks, bollard mounting and containment planned with your facilities team and priced as a scheme.
Two bays now, capacity and ducting left in for six more. Cheaper than doing it twice.
How pricing works
We quote after we have seen the board and the cable route, because those two things decide most of the cost. No prices over the phone before we know what we are dealing with.
Recent job
New EV, board at the front of the house, parking on a driveway round the side. The obvious route would have put grey cable straight across the front elevation.
We ran it through the loft and down inside the garage instead, so nothing shows from the street. New protected way at the board, charger commissioned and scheduled to the overnight rate on the app with the owner watching. Certificate and notification the same day.
Common questions
Mainly the cable run from the board to the charger, whether your consumer unit has a spare way and enough capacity, whether the supply needs an earth rod or a protective device fitted, and whether the cable can be clipped or has to be buried or run through the loft. A charger next to the meter is a very different job to one at the far end of a driveway.
Yes, and it is the single biggest saving available to you. Most modern chargers schedule charging themselves or talk to your energy supplier. We set the schedule up with you on the app before we leave rather than handing you a box and a leaflet.
Sometimes. A charger needs its own protected way, and older boards often have no spare ways, no RCD protection or no headroom on the main switch. We check that at the survey and tell you honestly whether the board can take it or whether an upgrade makes sense first.
Yes. We install multi-point workplace charging, including load management so several cars can charge without tripping the incoming supply, plus separate metering where you need to bill usage back. Site survey first, then a written scheme and price.
Where we fit them
Board too old to take one? See fuse board and consumer unit upgrades. Fleet or car park work sits under commercial electrical services.
Send us a photo of the fuse board and where you park, and we will come back with a price the same day.
